IYRS Scholarships
IYRS students are eligible for scholarships managed by IYRS. Awards are based on both the demonstrated financial need of the student and on merit. The number and amounts of these awards vary from year to year depending on available funds. The following is a list of the scholarships currently being offered through IYRS:
- IYRS Craftsmanship Scholarship - pays 50% of tuition to a student entering the Composites Technology Program or the first year of the Boatbuilding & Restoration Program
- Marine Systems Scholarship - pays 50% of tuition to a student entering the Marine Systems program
- van Beuren Charitable Trust Scholarship - $5,000 awarded to a student who is a Rhode Island resident
- Marine Trades Scholarship for Women – $5,000 awarded to a female student pursuing education in the field of marine trades. Special consideration given to women who are entering the field of or changing careers to the marine trades and have shown interest in the field through professional or personal pursuits
- Hope Iselin Goddard Fund – awarded to female students in their first year in any of the IYRS full-time programs
- Joyce Selig Fund – awarded to second-year students in the Boatbuilding & Restoration Program
- The Antique and Classic Boat Society Scholarship
You must complete an IYRS scholarship application to be considered for an IYRS scholarship. If you are applying as an international student you must also complete the international financial verification form.
