Over the past week, the IYRS students have been working feverishly on their boats, and on presents for friends and family.
So, as a special treat, we thought we'd share a little glimpse into the Santa's woodshop atmosphere that has pervaded Restoration Hall as of late.  Granted, some of you may be the actual recipients of these goodies, but a little peek can't hurt much, can it??

Oh yes, here's a favorite.  Not all of the projects are small things.  Take this baby for instance.

It fills up the whole length of a planking bench!  Clearly a lot of time and effort went into this beauty.  Such sweet, flowing lines as well.  I'll bet the lucky person getting this can't wait to start using it right away!

On the other end of the spectrum, most of the students are working on smaller projects that could more easily fit under a tree.  Take this piece of art, for example.

It may not be huge, but it's beautiful and obviously practical.

Honestly, who wouldn't be proud to have that displayed prominently in their home??

And then, there's this matching pair of beauties.

Sure, the craftsmanship is excellent, but it's the hours of enjoyment that they'll provide that really sets these two gifts apart.

Of course, the detail work that makes each one unique and clearly designed for the recipient adds more than a little touch of class.  Lucky lucky lucky recipients!

Not all gifts are being built, some are being turned on a lathe.

The precision and artistry of this gift is immediately apparent.  It takes some real skill to produce such a strong and yet delicate form like this.  It's sure to be a huge hit.

And lastly we'll leave you with a nod to the diversity of the craftsmanship at the school.  Not everyone here is building things out of wood, as you can clearly see.

You don't see a thing like that coming out of a wood shop every day!  Good thing he's wearing his safety glasses, you could definitely lose an eye if you weren't careful.

And that's the pre-holiday wrap up!  Sorry if we've spoiled anything, but we thought you had a Right To Know.
