Marine Trades Training Program
The IYRS Marine Trades Training Program has been developed in partnership with the
Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA) specifically to address Rhode Island marine employers’ need for trained workers. This is a 9-day, hands-on training program that teaches the fundamental skills and knowledge unique to the marine industry’s environment and work readiness skills, including: Marina, boatyard and boat shop safety procedures; basic tool use and carpentry skills; boat cleaning and coatings; basic diesel engine maintenance; boat mooring, hauling and blocking; work readiness – resumes, interviews and job applications.
