Living Exhibit: The Restoration of Coronet’s Interior Paneling and Furniture

Following the success of the Cherokee six-metre (2008) and the Lawley lapstrake tender (2009) projects, we’ve decided to offer a third “living exhibit”. As the Coronet hull restoration moves right along on Thames St., the exhibit documenting her history at MoY will be expanded and a living component will be included. The interior will be restored at MoY this season for all visitors to witness. Famous for her opulent accommodations, Coronet’s beautiful hand-carved mahogany bulkheads, paneling and furniture, most of which is extant and salvageable, will be painstakingly cleaned, repaired, preserved and reassembled by a craftsman/interpreter working alongside an IYRS intern as a living exhibit.
