IYRS | MoY | 2009 Annual Fund
For many students, preserving the craft is a passion, but gaining marketable career skills comes first.
Your annual fund support ensures that unique institutions like IYRS not only teach the next generation of craftsmen and technicians, but that theses talented and often financially challenged apprentices will fulfill their personal goals of being employed in the marine trades.
Between tuition and fees and living expenses, an IYRS student pays over $70,000 for the twenty month restoration program; more than $33,000 for the nine month systems program. It’s a big investment in both time and money.
Your Annual Fund Gift Helps Support:
New Educational Program Development – The school intends to double the number of accredited career programs from two to four over the next two years in order to meet the needs of the marine industry.
Scholarships – IYRS has set a long-term goal of funding 50% of student tuition and fees. This will help ensure that we attract the very best applicants, and importantly, ensure that they complete their IYRS education.
Faculty Development – The IYRS faculty is deeply committed to sharing their knowledge with the next generation of skilled craftsmen. The school and faculty are committed to continuous improvement of the curriculum and educational experience.
Library – The newly consolidated school and museum library in the mill provides much needed research and scholarly resources for our students and the visiting public.
Help us reach our goal of $112,000. See below for ways to donate.
